Locke`s Distillery Kilbeggan 20 minute drive away is Ireland's most charming old world whiskey Distillery. Immerse yourself in over 250 years of Irish whiskey making at Kilbeggan Distillery. See the 19th century water wheel that’s still in use and the steam engine, which is still fired up on special occasions. You’ll enjoy a visit to the old warehouses and even get to meet the onsite distillers.	Clonmacnoise A beautiful monastic site on the banks of the Shannon. A 20 minute drive from our home, the site includes the ruins of a cathedral, eight churches (10th-13th century), two round towers, three high crosses.	Lough Boora Discovery Park One of my favourite places. Spend the day outdoors exploring Lough Boora’s walking and cycling routes and you'll discover the park’s sculptures and natural treasures. Rent bicycles & explore kms of easy trails. The park is about a 40 mins drive away and really worth a visit.
